Questions, answered
Everything people ask before their first session. If yours isn’t here, message Paris on Instagram or use the contact page — she answers them herself.

It’s free, and it’s a real training session rather than a sales pitch. You fill in a short form first so Paris knows your goals, your training history and anything that hurts. Then you lift: she takes you through the main movements, fixes your form, and works out where to start you.
-
For in-person training, yes, from your second session. 5 Star Fitness asks new clients to join their own training membership at $40 a month, which is separate from what you pay Paris. Your free first session doesn’t need it. Online clients don’t need it at all.
-
In person, twice a week is the minimum. That is what 5 Star’s training membership asks for, and it is also the point where strength training starts to actually work. Most clients train two or three times a week.
-
Yes. Most of the women Paris trains start exactly there. Nothing gets loaded until the movement is right, so the first few weeks are about learning the lifts properly rather than chasing numbers.
-
Start with the free 15-minute call. Paris then builds your program in Trainerize, so it sits on your phone with a video for every exercise, and she checks your form from the clips you send her. You train wherever you already train.

5 Star Fitness, 2012 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. Park in the main lot and ask for Paris at the front desk. Floor hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6-11am, and Tuesday and Thursday 2-6pm.
-
Training is priced by how many days a week you train, and Paris goes through the options on your first session or consultation call once she knows what you actually need. The at-home programs are $14.99 to $19.99, or $39 for all three together, and they are all on the Programs page.

Thirty-day PDF plans written by Paris, laid out session by session. Glute Sculpt and Upper Body Tone are three lifting sessions and one cardio day a week, using a resistance band and a pair of dumbbells. Strong Abs & Core Reset is five short sessions a week, eight to fifteen minutes each, and needs no equipment at all. All three progress week by week, and every set has a box for the weight and reps you actually did. The file is emailed to you as soon as you buy.
-
Cancel or move a session at least 24 hours ahead and Paris will reschedule it that week wherever the calendar allows. Less than 24 hours’ notice, or a no-show, and that session counts as used - there is no extra charge, it simply comes out of your sessions for the month, because Paris held the time and cannot fill it at short notice. If Paris ever has to cancel on you, you get that session back. Life happens - tell her as early as you can and she’ll work with you.

Paris Wright is a NASM-certified personal trainer, coaching out of 5 Star Fitness in Scottsdale. She is not a doctor, physical therapist or dietitian, and nothing on this site is medical advice. Talk to your doctor before starting a new program, particularly if you are pregnant or postpartum, recovering from injury or surgery, or managing a heart, joint or blood-pressure condition.

Yes, two short things, and you can do both from your phone. First, the health and readiness questions in the app, so Paris knows what is safe to program for you. Second, a waiver and release - the standard agreement every trainer uses, and you can read it in full at barbells-and-bows.com/waiver before you sign anything. If you train at 5 Star Fitness you will also sign their own separate form, which is between you and the gym.
